Immediately after graduation from BSU, he joined the Philippine National Police Academy as a cadet and rose in ranks as Police Inspector after four years, Police Senior Inspector for seven years, Police Superintendent for five years, Police Colonel, and in 2021 as Brigadier General.

He held various designation from Chief of Police as initial designation, Camp Commander at one time in Ilocos Sur, Provincial Director in Mountain Province, and Regional Director in Region 3. He was also designated as Chief/OIC Chief of various offices at the PNP national office.

In view of his dedication and commitment to his work, he received 105 recognition awards in different categories. On top of the list are the 54 Medalya ng Papuri or Commendation Medal for demonstrated exemplary efficiency, devotion, and loyalty to his duty assignments; 27 Medalya ng Kasanayan or Efficiency Medal for eminently meritorious and invaluable service; and 12 Medalya ng Kagalingan or Medal of Merit.

He was also awarded three Medalya ng Kadakilaan for heroism, Medalya ng Paglaban sa Manliligalig for preventing anti-dissidence, Medalya ng Paglilingkod for participation in the campaign against criminality or insurgency in at least six months, and Tsapa sa Natatanging Yunit for acts and services or exceptional devotion and fidelity.

Brig. Gen. Comila is the current Chief, Inspection and Audit Division of the PNP- Internal Affairs Service at Camp Crame, Quezon City. He is married to Monalisa Jose, also an alumna of BSU.
