Jake was among the 2021 Top 10 Outstanding Filipinos recognized by Metrobank Foundation, and the third BSU alumni who was given such award. He also received a Special Recognition for Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarian Assistance during the 21 st PAF National Gawad Kalasag Awarding Ceremonies.

He is one of the Philippine Army Air Force Humanitarian Vanguards. He belongs to Tactical Operations Group 1 and Tactical Operations Wing Northern Luzon. He is a Non- Commissioned Officer in Charge on Civil Military Operations with operations as his field of specialization.

His experience in operations and technical expertise have landed him in commanding roles of several disaster or incident response activities, primarily in the management of missing persons and those who departed, as well as search, rescue, and retrieval operations.

Among his two notable works were leading the teams during the Marawi strife that was liberated from terrorists, and rescue and retrieval operations when their was mass casualty during the landslide in Benguet due to Typhoon Ompong. From then on, he is tapped by LGUs in emergency response and on risk and disaster management.

Out of his experiences, he authored Training Package for the Management of Dead and Missing Persons which was cascaded to different regions. It was adopted by the DILG and LGUs. It is claimed to be the first training package in the country.
